Lima: On the sidelines of the Ministerial Forum of Environment Ministers of Latin America and the Caribbean, Dr. Al Amri met with His Excellency Matthew Samuda, Minister of Water, Environment and Climate Change of Jamaica, to exchange expertise across environmental fields and strengthen cooperation on shared sustainability challenges.
Discussions also took place with Her Excellency Anna Flavia Franco, Vice Minister of Environment of Brazil, focusing on preparations for the COP 30 Climate Change Conference set to be hosted by Brazil, alongside deliberations on the Ministerial Declaration for UNEA-7. The talks underscored Oman’s upcoming participation in COP 30 and Brazil’s perspectives on shaping consensus among nations.
Further strengthening the agenda, Dr. Al Amri met Andrea Mezza, Deputy Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, where proposals for joint projects in land reclamation and cultivation were discussed.
