FUJI, Japan – Oman’s Ahmad Al Harthy, alongside teammates Valentino Rossi and Kelvin van der Linde, delivered a spirited performance to secure fourth place in the 6 Hours of Fuji, the penultimate round of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

Starting from 11th on the grid in the No.46 BMW M4 LMGT3, Al Harthy produced a brilliant opening stint, charging through the field to second position within the first hour. His pace and composure kept the car firmly in the lead battle before handing over to Rossi, who maintained podium contention despite a sequence of Safety Car interventions that disrupted the team’s strategy.

South Africa’s van der Linde took over for the final phase, at one stage leading the LMGT3 class after a late push through the order. However, a final pit stop with half an hour to go dropped the trio outside the podium places. A determined late charge saw van der Linde recover to fourth, finishing less than four seconds off the rostrum.

The result earned Team WRT a valuable haul of points and capped a competitive showing at the iconic Japanese circuit.

Reflecting on the race, Al Harthy said: “I was really, really happy with the performance and the car to go from P11 and to keep climbing all the way to P2. For my stint, I really felt that was one of my best races in WEC for 2025 and very happy that everything was working out for us at that point. Vale came into the car, but with Safety Cars coming at the wrong time for us we had to pick our way up again with how things evolved.

In terms of the last half an hour, at one point we were fighting for P1, P2, P3, P4 but the eventual finish of P4 from Kelvin was the best we could do from our strategy. Fourth place is a very solid result and I’m happy for that. I also want to thank His Excellency Mohammed Said Al Busaidi, the Omani Ambassador to Japan, for coming to the race and for all of the support we had here. It means a lot to see so many people from Oman in Japan, watching a race that unfolded in that manner. We’re now looking forward to the final race of the season in Bahrain.”

The 2025 WEC season concludes with the Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain on November 7–8, where Al Harthy and his teammates will aim to finish the campaign on a high.
