MUSCAT : Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, Vice President of the Swiss Confederation and Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER), arrived in the Sultanate of Oman this evening on a three-day working visit.
Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy, was at the forefront of those receiving the guest and his accompanying delegation upon their arrival. The Minister of Economy welcomed the guest, wishing him a successful visit and a pleasant stay.

Also present at the reception were Dr. Thomas Oertle, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Sultanate of Oman and Vanessa De Giörgi, Deputy Head of Mission at the Swiss Embassy.

The Federal Councillor is accompanied during the visit by Andreas Widmer, Head of Communications at the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, Miriam Gurtner, Senior Advisor to the Vice President of the Swiss Confederation, Alois Alwy Passable, Deputy Head of the Bilateral Economic Relations Division for the Middle East and Africa and a number of chief executive officers from a group of Swiss companies.
