New York: His Excellency held separate meetings with Maris Sanjaya Mvongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand; Lucia Beccari, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Political Affairs, International Economic Cooperation and Digital Transition of the Republic of San Marino; and Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore. Discussions centred on strengthening cooperation in diplomatic, commercial, and cultural spheres, while also exchanging perspectives on pressing regional and international issues. The meetings emphasized the importance of dialogue and mutual understanding in global forums, and were attended by senior officials.

On the sidelines of the General Assembly, HE Sayyid Badr also sponsored the reopening of the renovated Oman Hall at the UN headquarters, now renamed the “Oman Walkway and Hall.” First inaugurated in 1986, the redesigned cultural space reflects Oman’s vision of peace, sustainability, and coexistence.

The hall features a collection of Omani artifacts symbolizing the nation’s values and history, including the UNESCO-recognized Omani dagger, heritage jewelry, frankincense burners, and a showcase of Oman’s traditional shipbuilding, highlighted by a model of the Jewel of Muscat, an emblem of the Sultanate’s historical role in connecting peoples across continents.

The inauguration was attended by Her Excellency Amina Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Her Excellency Annalena Baerbock, President of the 80th General Assembly session, along with diplomats and representatives of member states. Both praised Oman’s initiative, noting that the cultural space would serve as an inspiring center for partnership, respect, and international cooperation.
