MUSCAT – Oman has unveiled plans to establish its first Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technologies Zone in Muscat, a $265 million initiative aimed at positioning the Sultanate as a regional innovation hub.
The project, announced at the COMEX International Exhibition, is spearheaded by Afouq Developments, led by Chairperson Dr. Siham Al Harthy, in partnership with Egypt’s Prime Group, headed by CEO Mahmoud Farrag. It is being developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
Covering 100,000 square metres, the tech hub will combine global innovation with Omani heritage and provide a platform for regional and international startups. Officials said the initiative is designed to support Oman Vision 2040 by driving economic diversification and accelerating digital transformation.
