KOCHI — Kerala Cricket Association has named Saly Samson as captain for the state team’s upcoming three-match T20 series against Oman, scheduled to be played in Muscat from September 22 to 25.
With his elder brother Sanju Samson occupied with national duty in the Asia Cup, Saly will step up to lead a squad that blends experience with in-form talent. The team will assemble for a preparatory camp at the KCA Stadium in Thodupuzha from September 16 to 19, before departing from Kochi on September 20.
Saly, who recently guided Kochi Blue Tigers to the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) title, will be supported by several standout performers from that tournament. Among them are Krishna Prasad, the season’s top run-scorer, and Akhil Scaria, who finished as leading wicket-taker.
