DUBAI : Pakistan managed 127 for 9 in their Group A encounter against India in the Asia Cup on Sunday, setting a modest target of 128.

Opener Sahibzada Farhan was the top scorer with a steady 40 off 44 balls, while Shaheen Shah Afridi provided late fireworks, smashing 33 from just 16 deliveries, including four towering sixes, to push Pakistan past the 120 mark.

India’s bowlers kept a firm grip throughout the innings. Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the attack, finishing with impressive figures of 3 for 18. Axar Patel (2/18) and Jasprit Bumrah (2/28) provided strong support with two wickets apiece, while Hardik Pandya and Varun Chakravarthy claimed one wicket each.

India will now chase 128 under the lights at the Dubai International Stadium, aiming to consolidate their position in the group stage.
