Doha: Sheikh Mohammed traveled to the United States after addressing an emergency session of the UN Security Council, where he accused Israel of “undermining the stability of the region impetuously.”
While the State Department confirmed the meeting with Secretary Rubio, several officials have also said that Sheikh Mohammed is also expected to meet President Trump. However, the timing and venue of this engagement remain unclear.
Trump, speaking earlier, expressed unease over the incident in Doha. In a social media post, he said he felt “very badly” about the Israeli attack, later telling journalists he was “not thrilled” with the developments.
