Muscat: The agreement includes hosting a series of major championships, acquiring official naming rights for the IRONMAN Pro Series starting 2026, and promoting the national tourism identity “Discover Oman” on the world stage.
From December 2026, Oman will also host the Middle East’s first full-distance IRONMAN race (140.6 miles), an annual event expected to be a cornerstone of the country’s sporting calendar. Additionally, IRONMAN 70.3 Muscat has been elevated to the status of official Middle East regional championship beginning in 2026.
His Excellency Azzan bin Qasim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, stated: “The Ironman Championships receive special attention from the Ministry, given their pivotal role in strengthening the Sultanate of Oman’s position on the global sports tourism map. Hosting such international championships reflects the Sultanate’s readiness to host the largest events, which contributes to diversifying tourism patterns and attracting new categories of visitors from around the world.”
