India’s PM Modi speaks with Qatar Emir, condemns attacks on Doha

NEW DELHI : Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation on Wednesday with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, amid escalating tensions following the recent attacks on Doha.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the Prime Minister expressed deep concern over the developments and strongly condemned the violation of Qatar’s sovereignty. He praised Qatar’s efforts in promoting regional peace and stability, particularly its mediation role in Gaza to secure a ceasefire and the release of hostages.

Prime Minister Modi reiterated that India remains committed to the resolution of disputes through dialogue and diplomacy and emphasized the importance of avoiding further escalation. He also underlined India’s firm stance in support of peace and stability in the region and its opposition to terrorism in all forms and manifestations.
