DUBAI : India launched their Asia Cup 2025 campaign in commanding fashion, crushing the United Arab Emirates by nine wickets at the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday.
Put in to bat, UAE folded meekly for just 57 runs in 13.1 overs. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the chief destroyer, returning sensational figures of 4 wickets for 7 runs. All-rounder Shivam Dube provided perfect support with 3 for 4, while Jasprit Bumrah set the tone early with a fiery opening spell. Despite a brief resistance from Alishan Sharafu (22), the Emirati batting order collapsed under relentless pressure.
India’s chase was a mere formality. The openers came out aggressively and knocked off the target in quick time, sealing a nine-wicket win with more than 12 overs to spare.
