Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Tuesday issued two Royal Decrees, further strengthening Oman’s international commitments in maritime affairs and cooperation with the United Nations.
Royal Decree No. (73/2025) ratifies the amendments to the Convention on the Establishment of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), underscoring Oman’s commitment to global maritime safety, security, and environmental standards.
Royal Decree No. (74/2025) ratifies an agreement between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations regarding the establishment of a representation for the organization in Oman. The move reflects Oman’s growing role in advancing agricultural development, food security, and sustainability initiatives in cooperation with international institutions.
