Doha: The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has declared the Council’s unwavering solidarity with Qatar following the Israeli air strike on Hamas leaders in Doha.

In an official statement, the Secretary-General condemned the attack as a “despicable and cowardly act” carried out by Israeli occupation forces, stressing that the GCC countries stand united behind Qatar. He affirmed the Council’s full support for any measures Qatar may take to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability in response to the assault.

The rare strike on Qatari territory, which drew immediate regional and international condemnation, has raised concerns over escalating tensions in the Middle East. Qatar, home to a major U.S. military base and a mediator in ceasefire negotiations, has denounced the attack as a blatant violation of its sovereignty and international law.
