MUSCAT – The settlement is part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to restore consumers’ rights through amicable resolutions.
The case originated from a complaint filed by a consumer in Sohar against a vehicle sales agency. The consumer had agreed to purchase a vehicle based on specific contract terms and specifications. However, the consumer was later informed that the vehicle carried specifications different from those stipulated in the contract concluded between the two parties.
As a result, the consumer refused to accept the vehicle and requested contract termination along with a refund of the advance payment. Following unsuccessful attempts to resolve the matter directly, the consumer approached the Directorate General of the CPA.
