Geneva: Oman highlighted its ongoing collaboration with UNICEF, particularly through the implementation of the country programme for 2026–2030. The initiative, aligned with Oman Vision 2040 and the Eleventh Five-Year Development Plan, focuses on expanding early childhood education, enhancing youth skills, promoting social integration, and protecting vulnerable groups such as children with disabilities.

The programme also aims to improve healthcare and education services, while embedding the values of justice, equality, and inclusiveness into Oman’s national development strategy.

Welcoming UNICEF’s 2026–2029 strategic plan, Oman stressed the importance of placing children at the heart of global action, protecting those in conflict zones, and building partnerships that promote sustainable and equitable development.

In its remarks, Oman also raised deep concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly the famine and shortages of essential supplies affecting children in Gaza. The delegation urged the international community to uphold international law, ensure the protection of civilians, and guarantee the safe delivery of humanitarian aid.
