MUSCAT – This achievement underscores the Centre’s commitment to the highest global standards in dive training, safety, and sustainability. It also reflects its commitment to sustainability in the diving industry and enhancing the tourism experience in Musandam Governorate – the leading destination for adventure tourism and marine activities in the Sultanate of Oman.
PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), the world’s largest diving organisation, supports a global network of over 6,600 dive centres and resorts and more than 128,000 certified instructors across 186 countries. The organization is widely respected for its rigorous educational programs and its mission to empower individuals to explore and protect the ocean.
Commenting on this achievement, His Excellency Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam, stated that the PADI accreditation consolidates the governorate’s position on the international tourism map. “It is a continuation of the successive successes achieved by Musandam in the tourism sector, including the great success witnessed by the Musandam International Diving Festival, which attracted widespread local and international attention,” he explained, pointing out that such achievements confirm the governorate’s unique assets and reflect the integrated efforts made to promote sustainable tourism development.

For his part, Badr bin Mohammed Al Shehhi, Director of the Musandam Discovery Diving Centre, said: “Achieving the PADI classification as a five-star dive resort is the culmination of years of hard work and commitment to international standards. We are proud to be part of the global PADI network. Through this achievement, we seek to provide an exceptional diving experience that reflects the unique natural and marine resources of Musandam Governorate.
