Salalah: The Ministry of Health today opened a 2-day event titled “Dhofar Forum for Health Digital Transformation”.
Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, was the chief guest at the opening of the event, which took the theme “Digitization of health and innovation: Towards an outstanding, sustainable healthcare service”.

The objectives of the forum include: Enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise in the field of digital healthcare transformation; Exploring the latest global experiences and technologies; and Discussing future challenges with a view to developing innovative strategies that contribute to the realization of top quality in digital healthcare services in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.

The forum is attended by personnel of administrative, medical and nursing departments in military and security institutions, as well as representatives of the private sector.

Working papers at the forum dealt with “Using artificial intelligence applications in archiving radiology images and medical documents”; “A project on virtual medicine”, and the “Kingdom of Bahrain’s experience in the digitization of the health sector”.
The first day’s activities concluded a session on protecting hospitals and patients against cyber-attacks.
A technology exhibition featuring prominent digital health initiatives and services is being held on the sidelines of the forum. The exhibition introduces Al Shifa app, an electronic health portal, virtual medicine projects, health geographic data solutions and the services rendered by the Drug Safety Centre.
