Abu Dhabi: The UAE has confirmed that Friday, September 5, 2025 (12th of Rabi Al-Awwal) will be a paid holiday for employees in both the public and private sectors to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him).
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced the decision for private companies, following an earlier circular from the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources granting the same holiday for government employees.
Falling on a Friday, the observance coincides with the start of the national weekend, effectively giving many residents a three-day break from work.

Authorities underlined that the unified announcement reflects the UAE’s tradition of honouring significant Islamic occasions, while ensuring employees across all sectors can spend the day in commemoration with their families and communities.
