MUSCAT : The initiative covers about 71 kilometers of new roads and forms part of the governorate’s 2025 development plan.
Eng. Mohammed bin Salem Al Tobi, Director of the Projects Department at North Al Sharqiyah Municipality, confirmed that the projects have been divided into multiple packages to serve different villages and improve accessibility.
Among the key works is the paving of 18 km of internal roads linking Al Khashaba and Jafr Al Daham, along with a 9.5 km road to Al Hamma and a 4 km stretch to Al Raq, with a 17.6% completion rate achieved so far. Other projects include the 4.8 km road to Zakat village and a 6.9 km link connecting Zakat, Al Ram, and Sheh, currently 15% complete.

Additional packages cover wider link road developments:
A 20.9 km package costing RO 2.43m, connecting Al Mudhaibi–Sinaw Road to Al Ghamsa, Tulul Al Sharq, and Mazra’a Al Salmi.
An 11.2 km package costing RO 2.07m, linking Al Mudhaibi with Dima and Al-Ta’iyyin via Al Jarda, Al Rak, and Al Rahba.
A 9.4 km package costing RO 2.68m, linking Sultan Turki bin Said Road in Al Jarda to Wadi Abd, serving nearby villages.
These efforts are part of a larger programme to pave 145 km of roads across North Al Sharqiyah in 2025, with a total investment of over RO 25.5 million.
