MUSCAT : Emotional intelligence, adaptability, and critical thinking will define tomorrow’s leaders, with research showing that 60% of future leadership roles will require human skills over technical expertise, according to Dr. Aflah Al-Hadhrami, Managing Director of Petroleum Development Oman (PDO).
Speaking at the Gulf Conference on Human Resource Development, Dr. Al-Hadhrami said leadership is moving beyond operational performance and numbers. “Over the next decade, leaders must combine digital fluency and sustainability awareness with the ability to inspire and connect with people,” he noted.
He emphasized that PDO is committed to developing the next generation of leaders equipped with these skills, underlining the importance of programs that focus on leadership development, innovation, and emotional intelligence — preparing Oman’s talent pool to meet future challenges.
