NEW DELHI : The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has clarified India’s stance on sporting ties with Pakistan, stating that while no bilateral events will be permitted between the two nations, India will continue to take part in multilateral tournaments such as the Asia Cup.
This means India’s cricket team will feature in the Asia Cup 2025, scheduled to begin on September 9 in the UAE, with the high-profile clash against Pakistan confirmed for September 14 in Dubai.
The ministry underscored that Pakistan will not tour India for bilateral series, nor will India travel to Pakistan for such engagements. However, participation in multinational competitions will proceed, in line with international sporting obligations and the Olympic Charter.
