Oman, Lebanon explore direct flights and economic forum to boost trade ties

Oman and Lebanon are moving to strengthen relations, with talks held between Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Oman’s Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and Dr. Amer Al Bissat, Lebanon’s Minister of Economy and Trade.

MUSCAT : In a video conference, the two ministers reviewed opportunities to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, industry, and logistics. Discussions also focused on a feasibility study to launch a direct Muscat–Beirut flight, a step expected to benefit both tourism and trade exchange.

The meeting further explored the proposal of establishing an Omani-Lebanese economic forum, alongside an exhibition showcasing Lebanese industries, to create new platforms for partnership and knowledge exchange.

Both sides emphasized the importance of elevating economic ties to strategic levels, fostering sustainable development, and unlocking fresh investment opportunities in sectors of mutual interest.

The talks were attended by Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Saidi, Ambassador-designate of Oman to Lebanon, along with several senior officials from both countries.
