MUSCAT- In an official statement, the Ministry extended its heartfelt condolences to the Afghan government, the friendly people of Afghanistan, and to the families of the victims. The Sultanate also wished a speedy recovery for those injured in the incident.
The condolences from Oman come following a devastating road accident in Herat province, western Afghanistan, which claimed the lives of at least 79 individuals, including 17 children. The incident involved a passenger bus, reportedly transporting Afghan nationals who had recently been deported from Iran, which caught fire after a collision with a truck and a motorcycle on Tuesday night.
Officials confirmed that all those aboard the bus perished in the crash, along with two individuals from the other vehicles involved.
