Kuwait City: `The move, aimed at strengthening social ties and promoting greater openness, was confirmed by Colonel Abdulaziz Al Kandari of the General Residency Department’s Electronic Services Administration.
As per the new rules, any legal resident in Kuwait can now apply for a family visit visa for relatives, regardless of their income level. This change removes a significant financial obstacle that many expatriates previously faced.
In addition to the salary requirement, the reforms also expand the list of eligible relatives to include extended family, such as fourth-degree blood relations and third-degree in-laws. Another key change, ordered by Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al Yousuf, is the cancellation of the ‘national carrier’ requirement. Visitors can now travel to Kuwait by any airline, or by land or sea, without restriction.
Another notable reform involves the removal of the requirement for visitors to travel via Kuwait’s national airline. According to the Ministry of Interior, visitors are now free to enter the country through any air, land, or sea route, using carriers of their choice. This directive came under the instruction of Sheikh Fahad Al Yousuf Al Sabah, Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
