Muscat Municipality’s Masar Project continues to enhance street vending and support small businesses

Muscat Municipality ‘Masar’ Project is aimed at regulating street vending and supporting small businesses by providing integrated sites with high-quality food carts and essential services.

MUSCAT – The project is part of the Municipality’s broader strategy to create safe and healthy environment, with visually appealing urban spaces, while also fostering economic growth and entrepreneurship.


Through the Masar Project, the Municipality aims to organise street vendor activities by providing food trucks that are built to high technical and health standards and offering safe and hygienic space in compliance with regulations. It also seeks to enhance the city’s appearance, create employment opportunities and support the local economy and small and medium-sized enterprises.


Current project locations:
• Bausher 1: 15 food trucks
• Al Wadi Al Kabir: 12 food trucks
• Al Amerat: 15 food trucks
• Bausher 2: 10 food trucks
• Al Mawaleh: 25 food trucks
Each site is equipped with essential services, including:
• Lighting
• Landscaping
• Restrooms
• Electricity
• Water supply
• Sewage system
