RAMALLAH : In a statement carried by the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA), the presidency rejected the Israeli plan, which it says involves mass displacement, starvation, and military occupation. The move, it warned, would deepen the already dire humanitarian crisis and constitutes “crimes against humanity that threaten regional and international peace and security.”
The presidency announced plans to approach the UN Security Council for urgent, binding measures to stop the actions and called for emergency meetings of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League to coordinate a unified response. It urged the international community, UN agencies, and the International Committee of the Red Cross to ensure the immediate, unconditional delivery of humanitarian aid and fuel to all parts of the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said it has launched a political, diplomatic, and legal campaign targeting decision-making centers worldwide to highlight the dangers posed by Israel’s decisions. The ministry accused Israel of using the Security Council’s failure to impose a ceasefire as a “cover” to implement policies of genocide, displacement, and annexation.

The ministry’s statement warned that over two million people are being confined to less than 10% of Gaza’s territory, with over a million already forcibly displaced. It said the plan will escalate mass killings, deepen famine, and cause further destruction.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk also called for an immediate halt to Israel’s reoccupation plan, saying it violates International Court of Justice rulings and undermines the possibility of a two-state solution. He warned that the move will result in “more mass forced displacement, more killing, more unbearable suffering, and horrific crimes.”
According to reports, the Israeli plan would be implemented in three phases: the initial entry of aid into Gaza City, followed by the relocation of residents to southern and central Gaza by October 7, and finally, the complete encirclement and occupation of the city.
