ISTANBUL : The closed-door meeting took place at the Iranian Consulate General in Istanbul and was led by Iran’s Deputy Foreign Ministers Majid Takht-e Ravanchi and Kazem Gharibabadi. Representing the European side were senior diplomats from the UK, France, and Germany.

This round of dialogue follows a prior deputy ministerial meeting held on May 16, where both parties had agreed to continue talks amid ongoing indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington.

Progress on the nuclear front had hit a standstill after the June 13 Israeli attack on Iranian territory, which froze diplomatic momentum and raised regional tensions. Today’s meeting signals a tentative attempt to resume diplomacy, though no breakthroughs were immediately reported.
