KUALA LUMPUR : The draw, conducted today at the AFC headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, placed six teams into two competitive groups. Group A comprises Oman, the UAE, and Qatar, with all matches scheduled to take place in Qatar from October 8 to 14 in a single-stage league format.

Group B will be hosted by Saudi Arabia and includes Iraq and Indonesia. The stakes are high, as only the winner of each group will advance directly to the World Cup finals, joining the six Asian teams that have already secured their spots.

The second-place finishers from each group will clash in a two-legged playoff on November 13 and 18, with the winner moving on to the global play-off for a final shot at qualification. An additional draw determined that the Group A runner-up will host the first leg of this critical play-off tie.
