MUSCAT – The OTP rate reflects the regularity with which flights depart on time and is an indicator of an airline’s ability to meet its punctuality commitments to its customers.
Between April and June 2025, SalamAir operated 5,144 flights, carrying 712,610 passengers, achieving an on-time performance rate of 88 percent.
This represents a significant 12 percent increase compared to the first quarter of the year, when on-time performance reached 78 percent, underscoring the airline’s commitment to punctuality despite the recent operational and political challenges facing the region.

Commenting on the achievement, Mohsin Al Balushi, General Manager of Ground Operations at SalamAir, said: “Punctuality is not just a performance indicator; it is a promise we make to every passenger who chooses to fly with us. Achieving an On-Time Performance (OTP) rate of 88 percent in the second quarter, exceeding global standards and up from 78 percent in the first quarter, is a testament to the dedication of our teams and the continued trust of our customers.”
Since the third quarter of 2024, SalamAir has committed to publishing its on-time performance results on a quarterly basis, as part of its efforts to enhance transparency and enable passengers to make better decisions based on accurate and reliable performance indicators.
The On-Time Performance (OTP) rate is calculated based on the percentage of flights that depart within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, taking into account all reasons for delays. This provides a true assessment of the company’s performance and reflects the quality of the travel experience it provides to its customers.
