MUSCAT – Attended by government authorities and military commanders, the meeting reviewed national emergency preparedness efforts, the level of coordination among relevant sectors, and strategies to enhance Oman’s response to emergencies.

A key highlight of the session was the official launch of the electronic emergency management platform, a new digital system designed to improve coordination, information-sharing, and operational efficiency across all sectors involved in emergency response.

The platform will connect national and regional emergency management sectors, subcommittees in the governorates, operations centres, and other key stakeholders, covering all phases of emergency handling – from early warning and monitoring to response and recovery.

Lieutenant General Al Shraiqi emphasised the importance of ongoing training and community involvement in reducing risks and strengthening national resilience. He also praised the efforts of the National Committee, sectors, subcommittees, and relevant authorities for their roles in dealing with emergency situations.
