Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) and starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, this action-packed movie promises to immerse the audience in the breakneck world of Formula One racing, combining Hollywood flair with authentic on-track intensity.

Brad Pitt plays the role of Sonny Hayes, who was Formula 1’s rising star of the 1990s until an accident on track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, he’s approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), owner of a struggling Formula 1 team (APXGP), who convinces Sonny to come back to Formula 1.

Sonny is paired up with Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), the team’s hotshot rookie who wants to prove himself to the world. But as the engines roar, Sonny’s past catches up with him, and he finds that in Formula 1, your teammate is your fiercest competition, and the road to redemption is not something you can travel alone.

The fictional team, APXGP, battles it out on real-world circuits, with filming taking place during actual Grand Prix weekends of the 2024 season. With stunning visuals and access to real F1 locations, the film blurs the line between sports documentary and cinematic drama.

What sets this movie apart is its unprecedented access to the F1 world. Backed by Formula 1 itself and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton (who serves as co-producer and advisor), the film captures the realism of modern motorsport. From the pit lane to the paddock, every element has been crafted to reflect the sport’s intensity, pressure, and precision.

Aside from the racing side, “F1” explores the human side of racing: redemption, mentorship, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. It taps into why millions worldwide are drawn to the sport, not just for the roar of engines but for the stories behind the helmets.

“F1” roars into theaters on Wednesday, June 25th, and whether you’re a die-hard fan of the motorsport or a moviegoer seeking a summer adrenaline rush, this is a ride you wouldn’t want to miss.
