DUBAI: The Dubai Citizenship and Residency Prosecution secured the convictions against defendants of various nationalities, who were found guilty of illegally using residence visas to exploit individuals and operate phantom companies.
Authorities revealed that the convicted individuals created fake businesses to issue visas and recruit workers under false pretenses. These companies were often shut down abruptly, leaving workers in legal and financial limbo, without proper employment or visa regularisation.
