KUWAIT CITY : In a precautionary move, Kuwait announced the immediate closure of its airspace on Monday night, citing heightened regional developments. The decision follows a similar move by Bahrain, which earlier closed its airspace amid rising security concerns.
The development comes just hours after Iranian state television confirmed that Tehran had launched a military operation targeting a U.S. base in Qatar. The strike is widely seen as retaliation for recent U.S. attacks on Iranian targets in the region, fueling fears of a broader conflict.
