TEHRAN : In a strongly worded post on the platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Araghchi condemned the U.S. for what he described as an “outrageous” act, calling it a “grave violation of the UN Charter, international law and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).”

“The events this morning are outrageous and will have everlasting consequences,” he wrote, asserting that the strike targeted nuclear facilities dedicated to peaceful purposes. Araghchi called on every United Nations member state to take notice of what he labeled “extremely dangerous, lawless and criminal behavior.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister further stated that Tehran would exercise its right to respond under Article 51 of the UN Charter, which allows for self-defense in the face of armed aggression. “Iran reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interest, and people,” he warned.
