MIAMI: German giants Bayern Munich battled their way to a hard-earned victory over Argentina’s Boca Juniors, with goals from Harry Kane and Michael Olise securing the win. Kane struck early to give Bayern the lead, but Boca hit back through Miguel Merentil to level the score.
As tensions ran high and both teams pushed for a breakthrough, it was Olise who delivered the decisive blow in the dying minutes, clinching all three points for the Bundesliga champions.
The result puts Bayern Munich at the top of Group C with six points, two clear of Portuguese side Benfica. Boca Juniors, sitting on one point, still have a shot at advancing, but must win their final group game against Auckland City to stay in contention. Bayern will next face Benfica in a match that could decide who tops the group.
