TUNISIA: Hosted from June 17 to 22, the international tournament sees Oman placed in Group A alongside Spain and Puerto Rico, following Iran’s official withdrawal from the championship. With only three teams in the group, all have already secured passage to the second round, making tomorrow’s matches decisive for group rankings and second-round seeding.

Oman will face a tough opener against tournament favorites Spain at 3:00 PM Muscat time, followed by a second match against debutants Puerto Rico at 7:00 PM. The team is eyeing at least one win to gain a competitive edge heading into the next round.

Spain is considered a title contender, while Puerto Rico’s first appearance adds an element of unpredictability. A strong performance could earn Oman a more favorable draw in the next stage.

The squad, led by a young and determined lineup, wrapped up preparations with a training camp in Tunisia. During the build-up, Oman played four friendlies, defeating Senegal and the Cook Islands in straight sets, narrowly edging host Tunisia 2-1, and falling to Hungary.

The roster for the tournament includes 10 players who were selected based on their performance in the internal training camps. They are: goalkeepers Luay bin Ali Al Sulaimani and Walid bin Nasser Al Balushi, and players Mohammed bin Badr Al Hasani, Al Khattab bin Nasr Al Hasani, Majed bin Abdul Salam Al Ghailani, Yazan bin Mohammed Al Buraiki, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Maamari, Imad bin Mohammed Al Ghailani, Salem bin Khalid Al Arimi, and Abdullah bin Saud Al Ruzaiqi.
