TASHKENT: The Omani delegation, led by His Excellency Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, was joined by Her Excellency Ambassador Wafa bint Jabr Al Busaidi. The Uzbek side was headed by His Excellency Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade. Senior officials from both countries participated in discussions aimed at activating partnerships across public and private sectors.
Key outcomes included a new agreement in air transport to increase operating rights, bolster logistical cooperation through Omani ports for Uzbek exports, and promote joint ventures in higher education, energy, agriculture, tourism, and innovation. The committee also emphasized the importance of revitalizing existing bilateral agreements and aligning them with evolving priorities.
His Excellency Al Yousef held a series of high-level meetings with Uzbek ministers including His Excellency Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technology, and His Excellency Bakhtiar Odilovich Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs. These meetings focused on addressing investment challenges, unlocking trade potential, and enhancing cooperation in digital technology and industrial innovation.

A business roundtable brought together entrepreneurs from both countries to explore mutually beneficial investment opportunities. Omar Al Harthy, Senior Investment Analyst at Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, presented the “Invest in Oman” initiative, showcasing incentives and opportunities for foreign investors.
The Omani delegation also engaged with Uzbek companies in sectors such as electronic payments, e-commerce, and textiles. They visited the American University of Technology in Tashkent—an investment by Oman’s Ozman Investment—and met with startup founders and innovators at the International Exhibition Center and the Ministry of Digital Technology’s Innovation Center.
The visit concluded with the inauguration of the Golden Integration Oil and Gas Company’s Tashkent Branch, which signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Oman’s Seih Al-Sariyah Company.
