Washington: The announcement came during the company’s annual iPhone conference, promising a refreshed user experience while keeping the familiar iOS feel intact.
The American tech giant described iOS 26 as more “expressive and personal,” with improvements extending from the Lock Screen to core apps like Phone and Messages. Craig Federighi, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, said the update brings users closer to the moments and conversations that matter most.
A standout feature of iOS 26 is “Liquid Glass” — a highly transparent design upgrade that adds visual depth to elements like buttons, scroll bars, and in-app interfaces. This aesthetic shift offers a more fluid and immersive experience for users.

On the Lock Screen, Apple has introduced dynamic enhancements where the displayed time adapts seamlessly to the image’s layout. Meanwhile, spatial scenes add 3D-like effects that respond to the user’s movements, bringing wallpapers to life in a whole new dimension.
Apple has also overhauled app designs to match the new system’s visual language, aiming to maintain consistency and fluidity throughout the user experience.
