DOHA: Gulf Air flight GF213, flying from Doha to Kuwait International Airport, was the subject of a bomb threat on Sunday, prompting an immediate security alert by Kuwaiti authorities.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) confirmed the incident through an official statement, noting that the threat was swiftly reported and managed in coordination with Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior and relevant security bodies. The aircraft landed safely, and all passengers were disembarked without harm.
Abdullah Al-Rajhi, spokesperson for the DGCA, stated that “all passengers are safe, in good health, and currently in an isolated lounge,” adding that thorough inspections and security protocols were carried out to ensure there were no explosives onboard. He confirmed that scheduled flights at the airport remained unaffected throughout the incident.

Photos of the inspection were shared by DGCA via social media, showing the aircraft being searched in line with standard procedures. Following a comprehensive sweep of the plane, it was confirmed that the aircraft was free of any threat.
Authorities have identified and apprehended the individual responsible for the false bomb report. Legal action and security procedures are being undertaken against him.
