MUSCAT : His Majesty stated – during a high-level meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian – that Muscat is seriously pursuing the path of negotiations with no motive other than regional stability and goodwill.
“In this process, we are not pursuing any personal gain or advantage, and we have entered solely with benevolent intentions,” His Majesty Sultan Haitham affirmed.
His Majesty also emphasised that Iran’s success is viewed as a success for the region, underlining the Sultanate’s longstanding policy of quiet diplomacy and its trusted role in regional mediation.
President Pezeshkian, for his part, lauded Oman’s active and constructive role in the indirect negotiations, expressing hope for positive outcomes. The discussions between the two leaders covered a broad spectrum of bilateral relations, with both sides affirming a strong desire to deepen cooperation across various sectors, including financial, scientific, educational, technological, and medical fields.
President Pezeshkian also emphasised the need to plan beyond oil and gas, urging both countries to lay stronger economic foundations for future generations.
Both leaders reiterated their support for the Palestinian cause, commending each other’s principled positions and reaffirming solidarity with the rights of the Palestinian people.
President Pezeshkian’s visit underscores the deepening of Oman-Iran relations at a time when regional diplomacy is undergoing significant recalibration, with Muscat once again playing a pivotal role in building bridge.
