Muscat: Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, received His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs of Qatar, to explore avenues for deepening economic relations between the two nations.
The meeting focused on reviewing the growing economic cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar. Discussions centered on expanding trade ties and investment opportunities in a way that benefits both sides and accelerates economic development across sectors.
A series of visual presentations were showcased during the session, highlighting the mandate of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the role of the Invest in Oman platform, the Ministry’s strategic partnerships, and international outreach. The Qatari delegation was also introduced to investment opportunities offered by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning.

The Qatari team toured the Invest in Oman Lounge, gaining insight into its investor-centric services and streamlined processes designed to attract local and international investments. The lounge serves as a one-stop destination for investors, offering integrated solutions that reduce bureaucracy and promote a business-friendly ecosystem.
Further, a detailed overview was presented on Oman’s wide-ranging investment incentives, the Investor Residency program, and the benefits of the country’s special economic and free zones — all vital components of Oman’s strategy to become a regional investment hub.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including H.E. Dr. Saleh bin Saeed Masn, Undersecretary for Trade and Industry, H.E. Ibtisam bint Ahmed Al Farujiya, Undersecretary for Investment Promotion, H.E. Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Ambassador of Qatar to Oman, and other dignitaries from both countries.
