WASHINGTON: The inauguration ceremony was held at the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center under the patronage of H.E. Talal bin Sulaiman Al Rahbi, Oman’s Ambassador to the United States. The office will act as a bridge between the Omani and American business communities, facilitating trade missions, consultations, and access to economic data — all aligned with Oman Vision 2040’s goals of economic diversification and private sector empowerment.
Speaking at the event, H.E. Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of OCCI, described the office as a strategic step to expand Oman’s global trade presence. He stated that this initiative not only supports Omani exports but creates direct communication channels with one of the world’s largest economies.
The office’s mission includes enabling Omani companies to enter U.S. markets, supporting mutual investments, organizing business meetings, and maximizing benefits from the U.S.-Oman Free Trade Agreement.

Her Excellency Ibtisam bint Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary for Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, explained that the opening of the Omani trade office in the United States of America falls within the Sultanate of Oman’s strategic direction to enhance the flow of foreign direct investment and increase its contribution to the national economy.
Oman’s Ambassador to the U.S., H.E. Talal Al Rahbi, emphasized the long-standing trade relations between the two nations, dating back nearly two centuries. It is also a gateway to opening broader horizons of cooperation and trade exchange, especially in vital sectors such as industry, technology and clean energy. He hoped that the office would contribute to building long-term strategic partnerships and enhancing the presence of Omani products and services in the American market.
Representing the U.S., Ambassador-designate Anna Escrohema praised the initiative as a “new economic bridge” that will provide tangible opportunities for both nations’ business communities.
The office will be led by Director Amy Han, who outlined key programs including the Business Assistance Program and Business Accelerator Program, aimed at offering consultations, market-entry strategies, and an interactive digital platform for trade insights.
OCCI CEO Zakaria Al Saadi said the office is a “practical translation of Oman’s strategy” to improve the business climate and help companies navigate global markets. Board member Saud Al-Nahari added that it will also support Omani exporters in overcoming regulatory and logistical hurdles in the U.S.
