RIYADH: Donald Trump became the first US president in 25 years to meet a Syrian leader on Wednesday after he offered sanctions relief.
Trump, who is in Saudi Arabia, met with Syrian interim President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, after strongman Bashar al-Assad was ousted in December.
According to reports, the two leaders held talks for about 33-minutes ahead of a larger gathering of Gulf leaders in Riyadh.
