Qatar: Jorge Martin, who secured the 2024 MotoGP title with Ducati’s satellite team Pramac, is poised to defend his championship with Aprilia at the Qatar GP. The Spaniard suffered injuries to his right hand and foot during pre-season testing in Malaysia, forcing him to miss the season opener. However, his recovery is progressing well, and he remains on track to return to competition at the Losail International Circuit.

His comeback is particularly significant as Martin will face an uphill battle in the championship standings. Heading into the Qatar GP, he is 87 points behind the current leader, Alex Marquez, who holds a slim one-point advantage over his brother, Marc Marquez. The Marquez siblings’ intense rivalry has already added a thrilling dynamic to the 2025 season, with Marc clinching two Grand Prix victories and three sprint race wins thus far.

With the title race heating up, Martin’s return to the track with Aprilia could inject new excitement into an already highly competitive season.
