The policy also highlights public health as the central pillar of the health system, with an emphasis on disease prevention, health promotion, and creating an environment conducive to maintaining health. Primary healthcare is recognised as the cornerstone of Oman’s health system, ensuring that all services are integrated, comprehensive, and of high quality.
In addition, the policy prioritizes leadership and governance in health system management, aiming to create an attractive work environment for health professionals. It also focuses on securing and developing human resources in various health specialties, defining clear career progression paths to ensure the sustainability of skilled healthcare professionals.
