Muscat – The project, which is being carried out by Nama Water Services Company, aims to provide a sustainable water supply for local residents and cover new schemes in the region, particularly the Al Alou area.

Engineer Badr bin Salem Al-Rubai’i, Director of the Water Networks Project in Yanqul, highlighted that the initiative involves the construction of a 72.7-kilometer water distribution network using high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes. In addition, a 1.9-kilometer main distribution line of ductile iron (DI) pipes is being installed, along with a pumping station equipped with three pumps and four connection points. The project also includes vital infrastructure such as fire hydrants, isolation valves, and pressure monitoring points.

With an estimated cost of RO 2.58 million, the project is set to provide 590 home connections, benefiting approximately 6,000 residents. It is expected to be fully operational by the third quarter of this year, ensuring a reliable water supply to the people of Yanqul.

It’s worth noting that the Yanqul water network project is part of a series of projects being implemented by Nama Water Services Company in several governorates in the Sultanate of Oman. Through these projects, the company seeks to ensure the sustainability of water services and provide potable water to citizens and residents.
