Muscat: Organised by Royal Court Affairs, represented by the Royal Camel Corps, the five-day festival will see the participation of around 1,650 camels and riders from across the Sultanate, reflecting the deep-rooted cultural and heritage significance of camel racing in Oman.

The festival features 77 rounds across various camel categories, with 27 cars, 21 tokens, and other cash prizes up for grabs.

Day 1 (Sunday): 32 rounds for the Hajjaj category (4 km) — 23 in the morning, 9 in the evening.

Day 2: 20 rounds for the Laqaya category (5 km) — 14 morning, 6 evening.

Day 3: 9 rounds for the Jadaa category (6 km) and 3 rounds for human riders in the Thanaya and Haul categories (2 km).

Day 4: 7 rounds — 3 for Thanaya (8 km) and 4 for Haul (8 km).

The final day will include six showdowns:

Hajjaj (4 km) – Winner takes home a cup and car.

Laqaya (5 km) – Cup and car for the victor.

Jadaa (6 km) – Cup and car awarded.

Thanaya (8 km) – Champion receives a cup and car.

Haul (8 km) – The main round, with the winner crowned with His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup and a car.

Human riders (2 km) – Winner gets a car.

The festival celebrates His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq’s steadfast support for the sport and its role in preserving Omani heritage.
