MUSCAT : During a discussion at the Shura Council’s eighth regular session, the Minister addressed ongoing efforts surrounding the unified visa, acknowledging that its implementation would take time due to a combination of security concerns and differing viewpoints among the GCC member countries.

While the initiative, officially approved in 2023, aimed to boost tourism by simplifying travel across the GCC, its realisation remains challenging, he noted, pointing out that the proposal is still under research and study.
