Industrial projects lead demand as Oman’s natural gas output hits 4.6 billion cubic meters

Oman recorded a 9.5% rise in natural gas production and imports by the end of January 2025, reaching 4.604 billion cubic meters, up from 4.205 billion cubic meters during the same period last year.

Muscat: According to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the data highlights the growing role of industrial projects, which accounted for the largest share of gas consumption—52.6% or 2.423 billion cubic meters.

Natural gas usage was also distributed as follows:

Oil fields consumed 1.146 billion cubic meters

Power generation plants used 1.014 billion cubic meters

Industrial zones accounted for 20 million cubic meters

Of the total gas supply, non-associated gas production and imports made up 3.514 billion cubic meters, while associated gas production amounted to 1.090 billion cubic meters.
