SAUDI ARABIA: Beyond meal services, authorities recorded 8,393 cubic meters of Zamzam water consumption and cleared 1,190 tonnes of waste, ensuring a clean and safe environment for worshippers. The Grand Mosque witnessed its busiest day so far this Ramadan, with 500,000 Umrah performers in a single day.

To manage the huge influx of pilgrims, officials have activated 196 access points, including five main gates, for smoother entry and exit. The Kingdom has also deployed advanced crowd monitoring technologies, supported by 200 digital wayfinding screens across mosque courtyards.

Other key services introduced this Ramadan include:

Pedestrian assistance teams to guide worshippers
Mobile hair-shaving units for those completing Umrah
Luggage storage centers with six collection points for ease of movement

Adding to the Ramadan experience, Saudi authorities launched the “First Home” exhibition in the Third Saudi Expansion Area, showcasing the history and evolution of the Kaaba. Thousands of visitors have already explored the exhibition, which aims to deepen cultural and spiritual understanding.
